The seventh Pembroke Festival kicks off today (Thursday) and promises fun and frolics for everyone.
The theme of this year’s festival is wheels, so get ready for the Whacky Wheels procession from Pembroke Castle at 5.30pm today. Whether on a bike, roller skates, skateboard, in a wheelchair, pushing a pram, driving a go-kart or scooter, everyone is welcome.
The procession ends at South Quay and is followed by a family disco. There are also other musical events throughout the weekend, including a disco for ten to 18 year olds at the Tanyard Youth Project, from 8pm on Friday and tribute band, Planet ABBA, at the marquee on South Quay. Tickets are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
Saturday is rock night, with Regime, Devil’s Answer and Last to Fall, while Sunday afternoon is a more relaxed affair with Hindsight, Lowri Evans, and The Rain Kings. Later in the evening, Molara, Raul Speek and Johnny Action Finger will have everybody dancing.
For full details of the events, pick up a festival brochure from Foundry House community centre on The Commons, or visit www.pembroke festival.org.uk. Tickets are available from Pembroke Bookshop, call 01646 685144.
