Blue Lagoon, near Narberth has a new take on Friday night entertainment

Wet and wild at Blue Lagoon Wet and wild at Blue Lagoon

With flumes, water cannons and the wildest waves in Wales, all in a gigantic upturned coracle, Blue Lagoon could never be confused with anything as mundane as a swimming pool.

But for October, Blue Lagoon is set to take another step into uncharted waters as it blurs the line between waterpark and nightclub.

Friday night Wild Water sessions at Blue Lagoon, when everything is turned up full and dance music charges the atmosphere, have proved hugely popular and things are set to get even more extreme – with a series of events featuring dancers, UV cannons, fire-eaters, and lots more.

On October 16th, Blue Lagoon stages Bounce, a night when the coracle will reverberate to the biggest tunes from clubland, and on October 23rd, it’s UV Splash Party night, with stunning ultraviolet décor and cannons, and glow poi dancers doing their thing to the best beats from the commercial dance chart.

The season culminates with Spooky Splash – a spectacular spine-tingler of a night, with fire-eaters, body burners and the Bionic Angels, dancers who get up to all manner of high-jinks with angle-grinders.

If all this is a little too energetic for you, Saturdays are much more relaxed, when Blue Lagoon takes on laid-back Caribbean vibe, complete with steel band on October 24th and November 1st.

Blue Lagoon manager Tracey Rivera-Waters said: “Blue Lagoon is a unique facility that blends cutting edge technology with a commitment to fun, and there’s nothing like it anywhere else so to us it makes perfect sense to do things here that break the mould and challenge conventional notions of what a waterpark is all about.”

Wild Water nights feature waves of over a metre in height and the Lazy River is turned up to the max, so it doesn’t meander gently along, it courses like a torrent. Consequently, it is strongly recommended that only strong, confident swimmers attend Wild Water sessions.

Wild Water takes place every Friday night, from 6pm to 9pm, and costs £5.95.
