Milford Haven Amateur Operatic Society stages The Pirates of Penzance at the Torch Theatre

In 1950, Milford Haven Amateur Operatic Society staged its first ever show, HMS Pinafore, and 60 years later, the society is tackling another popular Gilbert and Sullivan musical, The Pirates of Penzance.

The cast is led by Aaron Lewis and Sharalyn Jenkins. They play Frederic and Mabel, for whom the path of true love is strewn with problems.

They are supported by David Coates as the raunchy Pirate King, Charles Owens as the pompous Major-General, Terri Harrison as the ageing Ruth and Edward Smith as the blustering Sergeant of Police.

The orchestra is under the baton of Marian Harris who, this year celebrates 30 years with the society.

Marian’s accompanist is Mark Jones and they are joined by a selection of woodwind, brass and percussion players.

The Pirates of Penzance promises to be a lively and fun-packed show, which will appeal to all ages. You don’t need to be an opera buff to enjoy the excellent music and lively action.

The show is being performed at the Torch Theatre from March 15th to 20th.
