Haverfordwest’s fourth beer and cider festival takes place over this bank holiday weekend.

Held at the town’s castle, this popular weekend event brings together food, drink and music for Pembrokeshire and Wales.

A host of local bands provide entertainment on Saturday and Sunday, while on Monday, an open mic session gives budding performers a chance to show off.

With 12 Welsh real ales, a range of ciders and perries as well as tasty wines to try, this is probably an event you want to walk to. However, it’s not about getting legless, it’s about celebrating local produce and having a bit of family fun.

Performing on the Saturday will be The Krooks, Elvis Preseli and Mike Chant. The Hoochie Coochie Band and Lowri Evans and Lee Mason perform on Sunday, as well as Pembrokeshire morris dancers.

The brewing competition will also take place on Monday. Any would-be beer or cider makers can bring a capped bottle of their homebrew to be opened and judged before prizes are awarded.

The festival runs from noon to 8pm over the bank holiday and is a great day out for young and old, with food, drink (including non-alcoholic), music and laughter for all to enjoy.
