ABSTRACTS, CLAYSCAPES AND DRUIDS: Eamon Colman, Paul Roche, Jane Eve Dixon - Three exhibitions at Oriel Q, Queens Hall Gallery, Narberth, until May 10. Dubliner Eamon Colman shows paintings full of colour, texture and form. With a career spanning over 30 years, he has shown regularly in Ireland, the UK and internationally. Colman layers colour and shapes evoling the landscape. The work captures the essence of the wonder of our natural environment. Although experimental in concept, the paintings allude to the joyful and the spiritual. Paul Roche, in Oriel Fach, has created a body of work called “Clayscapes”. Simply, Roche drew into clay slabs bringing together his exceptional drawing ability and his love of ceramics. The result is a witty observation on the characters and absurdities of life. Finally, Jane Eve Dixon showcases black and white photographs that explore the historical link between man and nature. Entitled “Spirit of the Druid – Lawrenny” the mystical quality of the ancient woodland in Pembrokeshire lies at the heart of the work.
