ON Saturday, July 19 Theatr Gwaun presents Best Foot Forward as they take to the stage with an hilarious English farce.
Clutching at Straws, by Geoff Bamber, tells the tale of Julia Benning, a pushy young businesswoman who is about to inherit her late uncle's company. However, first she needs to pass the scrutiny of her Aunt Celia, and that includes assessing whether Julia's newly-acquired fiancé is going to be an asset. Julia's solution is to borrow a substitute fiancé in the form of her friend Pippa's womanising brother.
Throw in a lachrymose nurse, a solicitor and a couple who get the wrong address for their swingers' party, and Celia's house is set for a busy weekend.
Tickets are £7.50 and can be reserved by calling the box office on 01348 873421.
