A north Pembrokeshire songstress will be launching her new EP at Fishguard's Theatr Gwaun, ahead of tonight's minute past midnight showing of Star Wars- The Force Awakes.

Jasmine Power and guitarist Dan Messore will be performing at the theatre's pre-Star Wars opening night party where there will also be DJs and Star Wars fancy dress.

Doors open at 8.30pm and Jasmine will be performing a range of her new music along with songs from her EP Stories and Rhymes from 9pm to 10.30pm. Signed copies of Jasmine's limited edition vinyls will also be for sale at the event.

Jasmine Power grew up near Goodwick and studied at Ysgol Bro Gwaun and Ysgol Dewi Sant before going on to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London.

A prolific writer of both music and lyrics from a young age, her family's involvement with the Fishguard Jazz Festival inspired her to pursue a career in the genre.

"This music has such integrity and so do the people in it," she says. Adding that her home county of Pembrokeshire is a constant source of inspiration for her music.

"I refer back to home in everything I do," she says. "There is nowhere as magical and as peaceful as home on the Welsh coast."

Jasmine's EP, Stories and Rhymes, will be launched early next year. The accompanying video, filmed at locations around Pembrokeshire, has been released to much acclaim and is available to view on the Western Telegraph website by putting Jasmine Power into the search. Tickets to the party cost £5 or £4 if you are also buying a ticket to the film.

The party is free after 11pm and the bar is open to both film and non-film goers.

You can book in advance by telephoning Theatr Gwaun on 01348 873421. Tickets will also be available on the door.
