THERE'S been good news and bad news for Tenby Blues Festival as it gets ready to rock over the weekend.

Organisers are delighted that the festival has been chosen as the venue for the announcement of the winners of the 2016 European Blues Awards from the De Valence stage on the Saturday night.

Unfortunately the Saturday night headliners King King have cancelled or rescheduled their current tour due to ongoing throat problems of their singer Alan Nimmo. Their replacement will be the legendary blues harmonica player Paul Lamb and the King Snakes.

The European Blues Awards winners is being seen as a prestigious honour for the festival.

Co-organiser Chris Osborne of the Fourcroft Hotel said: “This is a big coup for us and for all the people involved in organising this festival over the last 11 years. The event has gone from strength to strength over that time and I think it has really put us on the blues map of festivals in the UK.”

The results will be announced on the De Valence main stage around 10pm on the Saturday by a representative of the European Awards.

New Saturday night headliner Paul Lamb is known world wide as one of the leading blues harmonica players.

He and his band have won countless awards and he has sold record breaking quantities of albums. Having been inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame, Paul and his band will be bringing his infectious brand of soulful blues to Tenby.

Chris added: "We are confident the festival, now in its 11th year, will be one of the best yet, with so much exciting music taking place in beautiful surroundings. We’ve still got a ‘King’ of the blues!

"If any ticket purchasers desire refunds they will, of course, be made available. Contact info@tenbyblues.co.uk."
