RHOSYGILWEN will host an evening of words and music with cellist Natalie and actress Louisa Clein featuring poetry by Ted Hughes and Auden and works by Kodaly, Britten and Bach.

Natalie Clein is an old friend at Rhosygilwen. She has supported many of its endeavours over the last 10 years.

She is an exclusive recording artist for Hyperion and has recorded the two Cello Concertos by Camille Saint-Saens as well as Bloch’s Schelomo and Bruch’s Kol Nidrei with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to great critical acclaim.

A solo disc with works by Bloch, Ligeti and Dallapiccola has been released. She has previously released three discs for EMI.

This year Natalie tours the UK with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Libor Pesek, and appears with the Orchestre National d’lle de France and the Recreation Orchestra Graz with Michael Hofstetter.

Louisa Clein made her television debut as Charlie Deed in the BBC series Judge John Deed, which ran until 2007. She has also appeared in shows such as Holby City, Doctors and Casualty and played the role of Zelda Kay in Island at War in 2004.

Clein's theatre performances have included A Midsummer Night's Dream, My Children, My Africa! and The Lady from the Sea. In 2006, Clein assumed the role of the radical pianist Harriet Cohen in Dearest Tania scripted by Duncan Honeybourne.

She performed in the Almeida Theatre's 2008 production of "Waste". In summer 2009, Clein performed in the Sylvia Plath play Three Women at the Edinburgh Festival.

Tickets for the event on June 4 are available on Rhosygilwen.co.uk and the recital starts at 7.30pm.
