RHOSYGILWEN celebrates one of the 20th Century’s most loved song writers George Gershwin on Saturday, June 10 at 8pm.

One of Wales’ most celebrated singers, Shan Cothi combines her talents with local baritone Gwyn Morris. Pianist Stephen Pilkington and clarinettist Carwyn Thomas provide musical accompaniment.

Hear some of the finest songs written for the stage and screen from ‘Porgy & Bess’, ‘Girl Crazy’, ‘Lady be Good’ and many more.

Shan is an old friend of Rhosygilwen and says she loves coming to sing at Neuadd-y-dderwen, the oak hall at Cilgerran, which has hosted many of her past performances.

Pianist Stephen Pilkington who has curated the show has also been a big supporter of previous events and indeed has mentored many successful Welsh singers and musicians from the area in the past.

The ever-popular Gwyn Morris, who lives in Aberporth, says: “I’m delighted to be joining such a unique event.” The baritone is much admired for his generosity in supporting local events in the area.

There is a preconcert supper from 6pm and tickets can be booked on rhosygilwen.co.uk or by calling 01239841387 during office hours.
