A FRESH and modern interpretation of George Bizet’s Carmen will be broadcast at Theatr Mwldan on Wednesday, January 31 at 7.15pm

This will be the first broadcast from All’Opera’s 2018 Season, and what better way to start than with the fantastic Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s production of the classic four-act opera.

It will be performed in the enchanting setting of the Terme di Caracalla in Rome, the archaeological site of the Roman Baths where a unique theatrical stage comes to life.

Staged by Argentine director Valentina Carrasco, Carmen deals with themes of passion, love and jealousy.

It tells the story of naïve soldier Don José who’s lured away from his beloved by the gypsy factory-girl Carmen, whom he allows to escape from custody.

It has become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas of all time, featuring some of the best known operatic arias.

Tickets for All’Opera productions are £16 (£15) and are available now from Theatr Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621200, online at www.mwldan.co.uk or via the new Mwldan app.
