Move over Max Boyce! Pembrokeshire’s newest choir is set to get Welsh rugby fans all fired up for the Six Nations with a special rugby celebration concert on the eve of the tournament.

The ‘Pembrokeshire Young Voices’ choir will be singing traditional rugby songs and anthems from each country - including favourites such as ‘Sosban Fach’, ‘Jerusalem’ and many more. Members of the audience are welcome to join in (words will be available) and footage of classic tries by all six nations will be projected onto a large screen during the evening. The free family concert will be held on Friday February 2 at Folly Farm - the night before the highly-anticipated Wales v Scotland clash.

“Come in your rugby shirt and get into the mood for the Six Nations with a brilliant evening of song!” said Sarah Benbow, leader of the choir and music co-ordinator for Pembrokeshire County Council’s Music Service.

The concert will be the first public performance for the ‘Pembrokeshire Young Voices’, which is made up of 25 young singers aged between nine and twelve.

The choir is run by Sarah Benbow, music co-ordinator for Pembrokeshire County Council’s Music Service.

The event will help raise funds for the Friends of Pembrokeshire Schools Orchestra. • The Six Nations Celebration Concert will take place at Folly Farm on Friday, 2nd February. Entry is free and the concert starts at 7pm.
