THE final countdown is on to a three-day comedy bonanza at Cardigan Castle this summer.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday, June 21 with a set from comedy heavyweight Mark Steel, followed by two double bills from four of the finest comedians currently on the British stand-up circuit today: Lou Sanders and Ed Gamble (Friday, June 22) and Matt Forde and Glenn Moore (Saturday,June 23).

Hot on the heels of his brilliant sell-out show Who Do I Think I Am, Mark Steel returns with a new show Every Little Thing’s Gonna Be Alright, reflecting on the events of the last couple of years (first Brexit then Trump!) and where we seem to find ourselves now.

Star of Radio 4’s Mark Steel’s in Town, and newspaper columnist of the year, we’re delighted that he’s back on the road, and that the road will bring him back to Cardigan on Thursday, June 21.

On Friday, June 22 we have a comedy double bill: Lou Sanders is one of the most original comedians in Britain; a winning combination of brilliant writing, a shameless stage persona and leanings towards the surreal.

Also on the bill, the undeniably posh but agreeably self-deprecating Ed Gamble, who hits the stage with quick wit and infectious enthusiasm.

Saturday, June 23 brings another double bill from Matt Forde and Glenn Moore. Matt Forde is one of the country’s most in-demand satirists. Glenn Moore, a critically acclaimed and prolific stand-up, is known for his distinctive and inventive jokes.

All in all, this promises to be an excellent weekend and an absolute must for any comedy fans to come and see some of the best and freshest talent in comedy today.
