Picton Castle open for half term

Picton Castle is opening up this week for half-term with a daily Signs of Spring walk through its serene winter woodlands and a riotous family fun day.

With probably the largest collection of rare and woodland plants in west Wales, the fabulous woodlands of Picton Castle are beginning to stir despite the hard winter.

Don’t miss this chance to spot signs of early flowering rhododendrons, camellias and scatterings of snowdrops and hellebores, providing an enticing hint of spring to come.

Follow the self-guided walk on woodland paths, punctuated with benches, then cwtch up in the licensed Castle restaurant with hot chocolate and homemade cake or a hot lunchtime special.

There’s a change of pace tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17th, for a family fun day, when popular children’s entertainer Karlos and his friends create completely potty pancake fun.

There are plenty of things for little ones to do, both indoors and outside, so fun is guaranteed whatever the weather.

There will be games in the courtyard, craft, wacky shows, face-painting and a crazy pancake race at 2.30pm, before the great pancake toss in the courtyard.

Normal admission is £4.95 adults and £2.50 children, with £1 charge for some activities for children under five. Activities run from 11am to 4pm.
