THIS month's 'up close and personal' gig at Caffe Vista, Tenby, will see one of Wales' most respected jazz guitarists team up with charismatic Icelandic vocalist Claudia Gunnars.

Gary Phillips is one of Wales' most sought-after session jazz guitarists, and an experienced performer in his own right - fronting the popular Amigos, and successfully touring throughout Europe.

With many acclaimed records and collaborations with the likes of world-class jazz/swing violinist Tim Kliphuis, Gary has earnt the reputation of Wales' King of Gypsy Guitar.

Jazz diva Claudia Gunnars has long been involved with the south Wales music scene. She has gained recognition for her fine singing voice, which is matched by her infectious charisma and stage presence.

Relishing the challenge of tackling a wide range of styles, Claudia has built up a unique repertoire and developed the rare ability to tackle any song and make it her own.

Caffé Vista has seen Claudia perform with Dan Cassidy, Inspector Gadjo & Casey Greene & the Whiskey River Band. She has also performed with Carol King, B.B. King's daughter.

The pair will perform this Saturday (April 19) at 8.30pm. Tickets are £10 each and can be booked by telephoning 01834 849636.
