WELSH tenor and BBC Radio Wales presenter Wynne Evans brings his customary cheer to BBC National Orchestra of Wales’ Christmas this year – as he leads their fun-filled family concerts in Cardiff, Swansea and Haverfordwest.

In the Orchestra’s popular festive concerts, Wynne will lead the audience in a seasonal selection box of treats, with wonderful music that the whole family will enjoy.

Wynne will be presenting the concerts in St David’s Hall, Cardiff (Thursday, December 18, 7.30pm); Brangwyn Hall, Swansea (Friday ,December 19, 7.30pm); and Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest (Saturday ,December 20, 3pm and 7pm).

Carmarthen-born Wynne Evans is a familiar face from his career as a leading opera singer, and also from a series of well-known TV commercials. A familiar voice on BBC Radio Wales, he also presents Wynne Evans’ Big Welsh Weekend on Friday afternoons, a round-up of everything going on around Wales each weekend.

Wynne said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for this year’s Christmas Celebrations concerts. They are guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and get you well and truly in the festive mood. The concert will have a few surprises and is fun for the whole family. I urge the audience to come wearing their Christmas jumpers, and be ready to sing and laugh!”

With conductor Edwin Outwater on the podium, these jam-packed family concerts will conjure the magic of the festive season – including Do You Want to Build a Snowman from the smash-hit film Frozen. There’s also an exciting journey through snowy lands with Prokofiev’s Troika; beautiful music from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker; and John Rutter’s heart-warming Star Carol.

Wynne will be joined at the Haverfordwest concert by the talented Pembrokeshire Youth Choir.
