SMALL World Theatre will present a regular event under the banner of ‘Transit’, with the launch being held on July 1 at its venue in Cardigan.
This brand new event explores the best of West Wales’ alternative music scene and brings together top alternative DJs as well as great live bands from further afield.
Sarah MacHenry, drummer in the band Mwstard, helped to realise the event. She came up with the name suggesting “most bands or DJs worth their salt would have gigged in one of these vans back in the day!”
Mwstard, a DIY post/ pre/ not-proper-punk band from West Wales, described as “bass heavy, dub-jazz-post-punk racket”, will be headlining the first event. DJs Suck Music, Doris Dayglo and Martin A will play an eclectic mix from across the decades.
Post-Punk is undergoing a glorious renaissance with Mwstard at the forefront of the Welsh scene.
The individual members (who all possess an impressive punk pedigree) formed Mwstard after watching PIL's Jah Wobble and Keith Levene play at the Laugharne Festival. They will play tracks from their exceptional new album 'Cloc'.
Look out for the pink and orange transit van posters in your area! Advance tickets are £6/£5 available at smallworld.org.uk
