The Laid Blak crew will be headlining the Span Arts Aquarian Party at the Queens Hall, Narberth, on Friday.
Span Arts’ Aquarian Party is now in its 14th year, and fresh from selling out in 2011 when Dub Mafia took to the stage, 2012 also features Jungle scene veterans DJ Bunjy and MC Joe Peng, plus DJ sets by Aquarian founders DJs Shanna, Earthdoctor and Maya Mitten.
Bristol band the Laid Blak crew is taking the UK live music and underground club scene by storm, with a live set centred in urban reggae, touching on jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop.
The legendary MC Joe Peng shares front of stage with the vocal rocket launcher that is Flex. The band’s line-up is completed by Lupo, Rich, Ollie and Fingerz, who are equally tight, polished and completely at home whether playing ‘good times’ carnival music or the heaviest reggae.
Laid Blak have supported heavyweights such as Desmond Dekker, Nitin Sawhney, Julian Marley, John Legend and Luciano. They have lit up Glastonbury, Ashton Court Festival, In The City Urban events nationally and successfully got people dancing all over the UK.
Musical warm up will be provided by the Aquarian founders, DJs Shanna and Earthdoctor, plus Maya Mitten. There will also be some exciting DJ sets by Laid Blak’s DJ Bunjy and DJ Fingerz.
Tickets are £10 or £8 from Span Arts. Doors open at 8pm.
