THE Wyvern Theatre is proving Swindon has the X Factor after announcing a competition finalist is set to grace the boards in top musical Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Amelia Lily, who was mentored by former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, finished third on The X Factor 2011, the year Little Mix claimed the crown.
She is now set to join fellow finalist Lloyd Daniels as narrator in Joseph.
Singer Marcus Collins was originally offered the role but when he pulled out the chance was given to Amelia, whose debut single You Bring Me Joy got to number two.
She said: “I got a call last Friday asking if I’d audition. I’ve got so much to learn in so little time, it’s freaking me out.”
The cast also includes Matt Lapinskas, best known for playing Anthony Moon in EastEnders.
Ring 01793 524 481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk for tickets to the show which runs from May 19 to 23.
