Olly Murs has revealed that his life will be immortalised in a book.

The X Factor runner-up, who is currently touring the US with One Direction, will publish an illustrated memoir titled Happy Days in October.

"So excited to announce my book Happy Days! It's been amazing putting it together and reminiscing how much my life has changed over the last four years," he said.

"It's been an incredible journey and this book is going to be a brilliant way to document it."

The Hodder & Stoughton-published book includes hundreds of previously unseen photos and "behind the scenes gossip", the singer revealed.

"I'm going to talk about what life is like as a pop star, the ups and downs," he added.

Publisher Charlotte Hardman added: "Olly has so many stories and he tells them with such warmth and humour, so the personality he is so loved for will shine through on the page. Everyone at Hodder looks forward to replicating his chart success with this book."

Olly - who will return to presenting The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack - is set to release his third album after the book's release.
