Katie Holmes has revealed that she's doing fine in the wake of her marriage split from husband Tom Cruise.
The 33-year-old actress spoke out for the first time since she filed for divorce from the Hollywood superstar last week.
"I'm all right - thank you," she told the New York Daily News, while shopping in the Big Apple with daughter Suri.
Her father Martin Holmes added: "She's doing all right. We are doing OK."
The former Dawson's Creek star filed for divorce last week after more than five years of marriage, leaving Tom "deeply saddened".
Katie, who has apparently moved out of Tom's New York home, was earlier seen enjoying ice-cream with her six-year-old daughter as her estranged husband celebrated his 50th birthday without them.
Tom, who had been in Iceland filming sci-fi thriller Oblivion, marked the milestone with a "somber" gathering with his teenage kids Connor and Isabella, whom he adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. Suri reportedly spoke to her dad on the phone, claimed People.com.
"She's not going to hide. She's going to live her life," a source told the US newspaper in reference to Katie.
