GRAB your friends for a summertime get together for the Span Arts Comedy Club, this month featuring the award winning Howard Read, and gothic comedienne Bethany Black at Narberth Queens Hall on Thursday, August 14.

Howard Read is more commonly known for his kid’s television shows, with his animated double act, Little Howard. However his first love is stand-up and has even performed at The Royal Variety Performance.

Joining him will be perhaps the world’s only goth, vegan, lesbian, transsexual comedian, in the shape of Bethany Black, who was described by the Guardian as “dark-tinged but magical.” Perhaps it’s no surprise that she worries about being pigeonholed.

Compere for the evening is John Scott, a Scotsman, winning the Scottish segment for the Spike Milligan award for new comedy talent. Scott has done work all over the UK, even as far-flung as Australia and the Middle East, and has performed warm up acts for Frankie Boyle and Ross Noble.

Span Arts Comedy Club is the perfect night out, with delicious food in the interval from Sospan Fach and cosy caberet candle-lit seating.

Advance tickets are cheaper and can be booked either at span-arts.org.uk or book over the phone on 01834 869323. Arrive early to secure a table.

Discounts are available for group bookings of 10 or over.
