Hooked on Tim's art

6:30pm Monday 12th May 2008

Artist Tim Rees is now presenting his first one-man exhibition in the county for several years at Haverfordwest Library.

Featuring aspects of Pembrokeshire, the exhibition, which runs until May 31st, is an eclectic mix of landscape, seascape and estuary, executed in watercolour, mixed media and oil pastels.

A native of Haverfordwest, Tim now lives in Hook where he has a small studio.

"Living in Hook, I spend a lot of time on the river and I love the coast," he said.

"I have taken lots of inspiration from within the county with use of local landscapes, in particular, focussing on the way in which weather effects scenery - such as trees and lanes."

Tim studied fine art at Stourbridge and Newport colleges of art and has exhibited throughout the county and in one-man and group shows in Cardiff, Durham, Oxford and London.

He added: "It has been a while since I've done an exhibition locally, I'm really looking forward to it.

"I think my pieces show how much my work has evolved over the years. There are a couple of watercolours which I started ten years ago and recently completed."

Formerly with the design department at the Torch Theatre, Tim is exhibitions and events officer at Pembrokeshire County Council.
