I WROTE to the Western Telegraph recently regarding nuisance calls, outlining that I was plagued with cold callers and wondered how many other people were similarly overburdened.
I asked if anyone could help me prevent the continuation of these calls and, surprisingly, one reader has given me information that I would like to share.
To reduce the instances of these nuisance calls to a minimum they should register with TPS (Telephone Preference Services) by either calling their help line on 0845 070 0707, or registering on line at the following link: www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/sti llgetcalls.html This service ensures that it will be illegal for the majority of cold callers to ring the number that you register. If you do get such calls you can complain to TPS and they will take action on your behalf.
It may take a few weeks to take effect, but I assure you that it is well worth the effort.
No more inconvenient interruptions just as you are revelling in a nice bath; no calls at ungodly hours in the morning and, best of all, some means of ensuring that your blood pressure remains stable.
