HAVING worked and lived all around the world for a number of years, I have observed the pitfalls of inappropriate development.
Now representing holiday properties around Wales and the UK, I am acutely aware of the impact of the ‘wrong sort’ of tourism can have on the local economy.
This is not the ‘wrong sort’.
Indeed development of this kind can scarcely be described as being more sustainable.
Beyond this, there have been statistics recently showing growth areas in the economy – alternative holidays being one such growth area – an industry which is the direct descendant of living structures such as those proposed by Tom O’Kane.
If our county elders wish to continue to strangle the growth of the young local economy, on their heads be it.
