I CAN but agree with Mr Gould of Bristol’s letter in last week’s Western Telegraph concerning parking charges in Pembrokeshire.
Why Pembrokeshire County Council, National Parks and the National Trust cannot get together and issue a joint weekly/annual parking ticket for tourists and locals is beyond me.
These could be sold in Tourist Information offices or online and would save us having to carry a pile of change around in our pockets to feed the meters.
It would also encourage holidaymakers to tour the county and spread their spending more evenly, rather concentrating their spending in centres like Tenby and Saundersfoot.
I know visitors who preferred Pembrokeshire to Cornwall because of the exorbitant parking charges in Cornwall.
Now, we are just as bad.
Let us think outside the box and make it a little easier for tourists to our county.
