I WOULD like to congratulate you for your front page comment (Western Telegraph, February 19). I was appalled at what went on at County Hall, and am growing more and more concerned.

They [councillors] are there to represent the views of the public – and how can they do that without canvassing opinions by discussing topics openly in the media?

I am inclined to agree with William Rees that residents should ask the Welsh Government to intervene. This whole sorry affair makes me also fear for the future of education in the north of the county. I note that public consultations are now starting on the review, whereas many who are most affected by the proposed changes believe its already a done deal.

We maybe should make more use of our democratic rights... before it’s too late.
