Re: Haverfordwest Tourist Information Office.
I READ with interest Cllr Pugh’s reply on enquiries as to why his local authority chose to close the TIC in the centre of Haverfordwest and move it to where it is currently located in the temporary library.
Even though the direction sign, still shows the TIC to be located where it used to be at the Old Bridge.
As the older traveller may not be connected to the internet, may one ask how are they expected to find the delights of the county on arrival in the town?
If it is, as Cllr Pugh states, to help save the authority £20 million, may one enquire how much the local authority will gain from the sale of the Castle and Foley House?
Perhaps after the sale of the above iconic properties, the local authority might be able to find one of the many empty local shops in the centre of town, suitable for their needs in which to place a centrallylocated Tourist Information Office in Haverfordwest.
