SURELY cutting money for apprenticeships is a very short sighted policy. Wales – Britain needs skilled workers, men and women who can build the infrastructure, so talked about, develop machinery, get the houses up, plumbers, electricians, agriculturalists – people who ‘can do’ and are happy in their work and live healthy lives.
We need a few intellectuals, some doctors, lawyers, accountants etc. We have a great need for inspired teachers and instructors.
But bureaucratic red tape, rules and inspectors are often death to inspiration.
So, as cuts must be made, lets get rid of unnecessary bureaucracy and leave inspired people free to work and run good businesses and inspirational schools and colleges.
The old song says ‘Britain shall be free’.
