PERHAPS like others I am inclined, on occasions, to take for granted the time and effort many organisations go to for the benefit of others.
Many of them work hard to promote a more positive view of young people, for example, by helping fight against an increasingly cynical world.
On November 7 at the Follies Theatre at Folly Farm, I attended the second annual young Achievers of the Year Awards presented by Radio Pembrokeshire.
The 14 different categories of winners served as a perfect antidote to this negativity.
Each and every winner was a worthy recipient and, no doubt, it was a close-run thing for the judges with all the other nominees.
I would like to say a resounding thank you and well done to all the staff at Radio Pembrokeshire for arranging a splendid evening and for encouraging so many Pembrokeshire organisations to sponsor each individual award. A big thank you also goes to University of Wales Trinity St David for supporting and encouraging the whole event.
We look forward to other similar occasions.
