IT IS to be hoped that the elegant and powerful argument advanced in the letter of John Rhys Davies (‘Lies’ claim unanswered, November 26) will finally persuade members of the Independent Plus Group to withdraw their blind support for the Leader, Cllr Jamie Adams, in order for the Authority to pull together under a new leader to tackle the serious challenges ahead.
Two years ago, during the period that the authority was placed shamefully under Special Measures on serious safeguarding matters, the chair of the visiting Ministerial Board, His Honour Graham Jones, called a meeting of the 60 elected members to inform them that the board had encountered obstruction in its inquiries. As leader, Cllr Adams was accountable for this regrettable behaviour.
In the circumstances it would be the honourable thing for the Leader to step down.
