DOES everyone realise that in the election of 2010 in the Preseli constituency some 39,000 voted and nearly 30,000 votes went to either Conservative or Labour. Labour lost by just 4,600 votes. The Green party did not stand and Plaid came 4th.

The green surge and a reaction to the nationalist success in Scotland suggest a desire for something a little more radical than the Labour party seems to offer.

But beware.

Much is made of voting with your conscience and voting against the two dominant parties. But until our voting system changes we are stuck in the Preseli seat with a clear two horse race. And that means every vote cast for Plaid or the Green Party makes it more likely that the current Tory will be re-elected. We can make a difference in our own area and also on a national stage by electing one less Tory.

Tactical voting is something we are stuck with until the voting system is reformed.

Be clear that voting Green, Plaid Cymru or even for a hospital protest candidate will only have one effect.
