NONE of the parliamentary candidates said that ensuring food security should be the first priority of government.

All politicians think it is perfectly acceptable to continually attack farmers forcing them out of business, rapidly making nearly 63 million people dependent on imported food. And ignore the catastrophe this will certainly prove to be.

The latest excuse for the milk crisis is to claim it is due to a shortage of processing capacity.

Ignoring the truth that if farmers are not given a high enough price to let them pay their costs and make a profit, they cannot carry on.

There will be no need for extra capacity because the milk will not be there to process.
