The general election is now behind us and it must go down in history as the longest campaign ever and in addition the result produced several pointers that could change the nation way of thinking for the future.

We all expected Ukip to gain several seats, but instead it lost one of its existing two seats and after the European referendum which I expect the yes to win we will see Nigel Forage and the ukip party pale into insignificant.

Scotland which has always demanded generous hand outs form the West Minster government compared to Wales and never saying thank you has voted almost unanimously for the S N P.

They are a very left wing party even too left wing to be offered a hand of friendship from the U K Labour Party. In spite of the fact that the U K is grossly over borrowed they are calling or should I say demanding that the Conservative move away from their austerity policy which has proved that it is the only way forward and by the result of the general election it is what the nation wants. They only supply 10% of the Westminster vote and will therefor be looked upon as quite insignificant and Scotland will probably wake up to this and the S N P record during the next five years will a great change in the Scottish thinking and voting at that election.

What this result brought home is that the electorate are fed up with the much higher level of prosperity in the South East of England compared to that enjoyed by Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. To reverse this trend this vote must be wake up call to the Westminster Government and drastic steps must be taken during the next five years. They must abandon the white elephant, the HS2 railway line which will cost not fifty million as estimated, but probably eighty billion as this will bring little benefit to the regions only increase the affluence of the South East compared to the regions.

This money should be spent on improving the road and railway network to our far fetched regions and with it jobs and increased affluence.

This all looks so easy, but it is the only way forward to maintain the Union and an united Britain. Mr Cameron you have been given a working majority and we ask that you do not let us down. Raise to the occasion as Winston Churchill did in 1940 and Mrs Thatcher in 1979.
