A letter to Brains Brewery -

DEAR BRAINS, ‘Home of Welsh Legends’. Congratulations on opening yet another of your public houses.

It’s good for Cardiff, but as Brains prides itself on being a Welsh brewery it would be a great idea if you put as much money and energy into your pubs throughout Wales as you do in Cardiff, and not leave them languishing until they fall down with neglect and disrepair. Start concentrating on your pubs which are in the centre of Welsh towns Brains, and were once the hubs of the community; stop neglecting them, they’re becoming eyesores taking the town down with them.

Look at the Abergwaun Hotel and historic Royal Oak both on Fishguard Square and both closed with no refurbishment, no financial injection and total disregard to the people of the town. Start looking outside the capital city, Brains. Wales consists of more than just Cardiff. Start investing in the ones you already own, get them to a good standard so people will want to buy them and, unlike you, invest in the area.
