I reply to Mr Watermans letter of June 4.
I fear he is yet another person who is totally ignorant about foxes, farming and what goes on in the real countryside.
Foxes are vermin. They kill for lust as well as for food.
When I farmed some years ago now, I lost four new born lambs in one season.
I was also a poultry farmer and I kept free range hens and in one day the fox took 22 out of the 24 point of lay pullets.
He killed the 22 by biting off their heads but only actually made off with one.
I hunted for 50 years and its not only for sport as Mr Waterman so wrongly thinks, and its not nearly as cruel as shooting and trapping.
Also probably seven times out of ten the fox would get away.
They are cunning creatures.
I wish you anti hunting people would get your facts right.
