May I through your columns ask for the public to be informed about the development above Thomas Parry Way. What is planned and who is paying for it.
As I approach from St Davids, the first roundabout has been enlarged, for reason unknown, with 4 very fine and expensive stone wall sculptures rising up to the centre. Why are they there and at what cost to whom?
The roundabout was fine as it was before. The raised roundabout half way has no exits into the development site, so clearly there are future plans, but again, who paid for these expensive roadworks, and what plans?
As best I remember, the proposals for the site were a supermarket (Sainsbury’s?), a new school and many hundreds of new houses. So what exactly is going to happen as the large sign has the site “on offer”. Whilst writing may I applaud the road contractors for their minimal disruption to local traffic, and the quality of their work, both road, pavement and landscaping.
One final comment. On approaching the traffic lights, it is instinctive to drive ahead on green, and the small signs saying “give way” are both hard to notice and bad road management. Surely the traffic coming down from Lidl should be stopped at the lights when the by-pass traffic have a green light?
Anyone I speak to talks about their near accidents and a serious blackspot has been created for no reason. I do hope we the public may find clarification in your pages in due course.
