Perhaps I may appear to being a little harsh, but do the bus companies and the Council transport management not care about the elderly and infirm ?
The case in point is the sudden cessation of the 362 bus service that services Grove and the Pennar districts.
Elderly and infirm persons now have to resort to the use of taxis, which the majority cannot afford, since they are on small pensions and have to rely on bus passes and subsidised fares.
The companies concerned are still keeping the service running for the school runs, at around 8-00 am in the morning and 3-20 pm return from Pembroke Dock in the afternoon.
This would be ridiculous for the usage of the older persons mentioned herein who want to shop, access banks or post offices, visit relatives or have hospital or doctor appointments etc. Surely they would not want to wait around for up to five hours to get transportation home.
Anyone that agrees with me that this route should be retained should contact: Council transport services on 01437 764551 and /or Silcox Bus service management on 01646 683243 to voice their objections.
