Please allow me to respond to the letter in last week’s paper regarding the 362 bus serving the Grove and Pennar districts.
This service was being operated commercially by Silcox Coaches with no subsidy from the Council. Silcox decided to withdraw the service due to insufficient passengers travelling.
We appreciate that the removal of this service will cause problems for those who use the service and are unable to access other public transport routes. We are working with Silcox to see if there any alternatives.
In the meantime there is a Community Transport bus service which is available to those with no alternative.
The Pembroke Town Rider operates every Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am until 4.30pm. It is a door-to-door service which operates within Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and the surrounding areas.
The service is free to those with a concessionary bus pass. It can be booked by phoning 0800 7831584.
