EXCELLENT articles in the December 2 Western Telegraph by Ceri Coleman- Phillips. In my commercial experience, when a consultancy is carried out over an extended period, and the conclusion is to close one of the very best secondary schools in the county, someone has to be replaced.
When Kate Evans Hughes and Councillor Sue Perkins finally held a meeting for all in the Memorial Hall in Solva, it was so clearly a double act of collusion; after the leader of the council had rightly rejected the recommendation to close Ysgol Dewi Sant, these two individuals made it quite clear to all that if Solva CPS was not closed, then YDS would have to be closed. But they also said “we are only here to get your opinions”...of course!
As for Estyn, their activities remind one of a secret society.
One never knows when they will call, but one is certain that their report will conveniently comply with the recommendations from the council.
Pembrokeshire deserves better.
