THE All Pembrokeshire Branch of West Wales Cruse Bereavement Care provides a bereavement support service for adults. It may not be so well known that we also provide a service for bereaved Children and Young People up to the age of 25 in Pembrokeshire in partnership with Sandy Bears. The potential loss of any bereavement support service in our community could have detrimental and long-term adverse effects on the mental health and wellbeing of people in our community. Cruse works to support Children and Young People who are not coping with bereavement in what sometimes can be traumatic circumstances.

Cruse in West Wales has a team of volunteers who have been supporting bereaved Children and Young People on a one to one basis in the community throughout Pembrokeshire since 1994. Our highly trained and supervised bereavement support workers are dedicated to providing this service.

We also provide education and online support for those affected by death, and provide training on the Impact of Bereavement on Children and Young People so that those supporting bereaved Children and Young People in schools etc. are better able to help.

Cruse locally provided support to 18 Children and Young People last year and we delivered education courses to approximately 40 individuals.

We have supported 14 Children and Young People to date this year.

If you need our help for one to one support in Pembrokeshire please call us on 01437 891006, or for training and education please telephone us on 02920 860339 or email us at westwales@cruse.org.uk. We attend various community events to promote our work.

You can chat to us informally about our local services on Friday 8 April when we will be at Tesco in Haverfordwest from 10.00am to 6pm.
