WITH reference to the letter from Sion Llwyd regarding sixth form education in Pembrokeshire, I would like to point out that education in Wales is controlled by the Welsh Assembly, not First Minister, as implied by him.

In my opinion, a school at secondary level is not complete without a sixth form, and staff look upon it as the ‘icing on the cake’ to teach at A-levels.

One wonders if there is a hidden agenda here, which means that English-medium taught children will be penalised in the future, as a case is made to provide a Welsh-medium sixth form in the proposed new school at Withybush.

Constant changes to the education system cause confusion and stress to all concerned.
