THE referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union will be held on June 23.
Taking part is as simple as putting a cross in a box. Readers can find information on how to cast their vote in the Electoral Commission’s impartial voting guide, which has been delivered to every household across the UK.
There’s more information available at aboutmyvote.
co.uk The question on the ballot paper will be ‘Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?’ Voters will be instructed to put a cross in the box for their preferred outcome – ‘Remain a member of the European Union’ or ‘Leave the European Union’.
Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm and voters can find the location of their polling station on their poll card. Voters don’t need their poll card to vote but if they aren’t sure where their polling station is, they can call 01437 775844. We’re advising voters to plan their trip to the polling station in advance, leaving plenty of time before the close of poll at 10pm.
Readers who have chosen to vote by post need to make sure their ballot paper is returned by 10pm on polling day.
