IN REFERENCE to the letter from Mr Bellan, headed ‘Anthems’.
I would wholeheartedly agree with Diane Rhodes, who made the point that although she’s a royalist, she does not sing the national anthem because she is an atheist – we are a multi-cultural society, we have many different religions.
The national anthem is not suitable for the majority of the country, all with different beliefs, therefore this is why we should have an anthem that everyone can sing.
The constant element that has benefited our country has come from the people campaigning, landing??? change in the ballot box.
Every piece of legislation that benefits the public and every social change has come about from the people.
Not one piece of legislation has come about by the monarchy campaigning for the people.
Please let me know if there are any beneficial changes made by the monarchy.
