HAVING recently stood for the local county council elections and I am very concerned at the turnout.
The area I stood for has just under 2,000 eligible voters however only a litlle over 900 voted, just over 40 per cent.
This was not just a concern in the area I stood for, it was across all areas in Pembrokeshire.
I know you don’t always get the outcome you may wish, as I found out in the area I stood for, Milford North, however I feel I can stand proud and say I tried to make a change.
Those who voted whether for me or other candidates, can also say they had their say and for that I thank them.
With national elections coming up in just a few weeks it worries me that the same thing is going to happen again.
People have fought to have the right to vote, please use that right.
