Dear editor - As a co-sponsor of the notice of motion supported unanimously by the County Council earlier this year, I was staggered to read in the Western Telegraph that mid and west Wales AM Alun Davies is so out of touch with Pembrokeshire that he thinks there is not much support for dualling of the A40.

If he is under the impression that there is not much support then I suggest he pays the county a visit and talks to county councillors, residents, businesspeople, and motorists. He will soon realise the utter nonsense in his comments.

If, however, he believes that there is little support in the Assembly I am very saddened that Pembrokeshire is held in such contempt that the Assembly has no interest in providing a lifeline for its future economic development. Without infrastructure the employers will not come into Pembrokeshire. Without infrastructure the tourist trade will decline.

Perhaps we could be informed as to whether the Assembly has actually read the county council's notice of motion?

Cllr David Bryan Haverfordwest Priory ward.
