Dear Editor

We are being prepared for a standstill and cuts to NHS funding.

The over riding problem in the Civil Service, local government and health services is targets and protocols.

All are treated as qualifying standards not what they were intended to do set minimum standards.

The tick box mentality enables the staff to work to meet these standards secure in the knowledge that if they do so they are not liable to disciplinary action or health and safety legislation.

There are very clear distinctions between those who do their jobs to the very best of their ability and those who tick boxes.
