Cut backs verge on the ridiculous

Dear Editor

Please can anyone explain why, as soon as the red campion and the foxglove, come in to flower, it is necessary to cut back the verges so severely that all that is left is brown earth and unsightly chopped up litter? This is a tourist area.

the verges have to be cut back. personally, i like the look and smell of freshly cut grass and red campions and foxgloves.

have you thought of taking up gardening mrs slark.

i've never understook people like you that are constantly criticising the council ;-)
