Objections to turbine proposals

8:40am Monday 2nd November 2009

Dear Editor

Infinergy has submitted a planning application for four wind turbines at Wear Point. Each turbine has height of 105 metres, higher than the existing chimneys.

The turbine blades will move constantly, dominating the skyline from many populated areas of the Haven, including Pembroke Dock, Llanreath, Pennar, Llanstadwell, Neyland and Milford Haven.

The lives of people living in these area may be affected by visual intrusion, noise, shadow flicker and also poor TV reception in more than 400 homes. If you object to these turbines for any reason, make your views count by sending in your objections to Pembrokeshire County Council’s planning department before November 2nd, and contact your MP and local councillors to represent your views.

The residents of the Haven cannot be accused of NIMBYism, as they already have two LNG sites, an oil storage depot, oil refineries and a power station under construction.

These turbines should be located away from populated areas where people’s day-to-day lives will not be blighted.
