Dear Editor
When Preseli Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb visited the new Pembroke Power Station site, how many local people did he encounter working there?
Work has also begun at Blackbridge and the local grapevine suggests that 1,500 people are currently working on these two sites.
If this is true, could some of our officials, who gave permission for this project, inform us as to the percentage of local labour which is currently being employed?
I assume that the majority of work currently being carried out is ground preparation and am sure there is enough skilled local labour for this.
Recently there was a march through Pembroke in support of local jobs for local people. It would be interesting to know if any officials are following this up and putting pressure on the main contractor and sub-contractors to make more jobs available to local people.
